Red Velvet Boxed Invitations

This is the PERFECT fall wedding invitation! I LOVE deep, luxurious red and these are sure to stand out of the crowd of wedding invites. These gorgeous cushioned velvet pocket invitations were created with a 15th century inspiration. The bride is having a magnificent renaissance themed wedding, and I believe these invitations (and the fabulous save-the-dates: see below) will be sure to get guests amped-up for the festivities.

We created a cushioned red velvet base and layered on metallic gold cardstock finished with matching red velvet gold-foil stamped paper. By the way, velvet paper is by far one of THE coolest, most dramatic mediums on which to print your invitations. You can order yours here!

Embellished 15th Century Inspired Velvet Invitations

The invitations were wrapped with gorgeous gold satin cording and finished with an intricate gold cross and photo frame with a photo of the couple (aawwww... aren't they beautiful? :)

These pieces were attached to the cording with red wax, and were, by the way, custom manufactured overseas with a week-long deadline. Eeesh... the incredible lengths we go to make the dream come alive :)

The enclosures fit in a pocket on the back side of the invitation. Again, they were printed on that fabulous red velvet paper in gold foil.

Renaissance Wedding Invitations

The whole shebang was wrapped in parchment colored tissue sealed with a deep red wax seal and enclosed in custom-made gold mailer boxes (that matched the gold paper used on the invitations, natch ;)

And although I did a quick collage of the Save The Dates a while back, I thought I'd show a few photos of that masterpiece as well....

Gothic Wedding Save The Date Card

These were so fun to create! We used graphic elements that came from an actual 15th century book, and period wood carvings to create this authentic period-inspired Save The Date. The envelope liner came from a wood carving of an ancient wedding ceremony... too perfect!!

The ensemble was letterpressed in antique gold and deep red on thick natural white cotton stock.
